O’AHU-MAUI: O’ahu Team to travel to Maui for Interisland Social Mixer Event
Honolulu—Sixteen O’ahu pickleballers will make their way to Wailea (Maui) this weekend for the first-ever Interisland pickleball event: the Maui-O’ahu Ohana Style PIckleball Social Mixer. This event is the first of its kind…an event intentionally designed to bring together players from neighboring islands to meet, mingle, get to know one another, and of course play PB!
The purpose of the event is to spread aloha among PB players across the islands (as opposed to competing for status or medals) and is the brainchild of Ralph Gorglione, President of the Maui Tennis and Pickleball Association (MTPA). The hope is that after this inaugural event, all islands will collaborate to host a State-wide event promoting the same values of ohana and aloha!
Mahalo to the MTPA for generously sponsoring the O’ahu “Team” for a day of food, beverage, raffle prizes, massages, mini lessons, and all-day play.
And, mahalo to Pa’i Pickleball, who sponsored the Team’s “ohana” themed t-shirts.
